Northampton Spencer 2-2 Yaxley

The Cuckoos grabbed a well earned point on their trip to Northampton this afternoon.

Spencer led before Daniel Jacobs opened his Yaxley account and Lee Blewett scored a second.

The home side grabbed a point with 20 minutes to go.

Elsewhere in the UCL the match between Stotfold and St Neots was abandoned before half time after two sendings off a number of on pitch brawls. Sounds like we got away lightly in midweek over there then!?!!

PS A concerning note is the continued absence of our player of the season elect Anthony Thomas, is he injured or has he moved on?

The Yaxley reserves suffered a 3-0 reverse at home to Sileby this afternoon.

Thank you Antony for your response, was just about to reply to this one.

Please note that Antony will be back in the starting line up on Wednesday in our 2nd battle with Stotfold in a week, let’s hope we can reverse the scoreline from last week.

Just a quick mention regarding our latest cuckoo recruit Daniel Jacob, who has been very impressive in his two starts and was amongst the goals at the weekend. Daniel in fact was introduced to me by our main man above Ant, and has been a very good signing for us, especially as we have been lacking a bit of quality in the last third over the last month.

Great news indeed. As long as Antony understands that being our player of the year doesn’t get you a prize (sorry!!!) other than the honour of victory.

There was a trophy but Mark Hanton made off with that five seasons ago!!!

Stotfold might be fresh after only having half a match this last weekend :0)
