Its getting towards the business end of the season and thoughts start turning (1) to us securing UCL premier division survival, which I am confident we will and (2) player of the season awards.
This season it is going to be a lot more difficult to get inside the managers mind and get an idea of who is likely to scoop such an award, likewise for players player.
Early season the pace-setter was Dominic Henson, quick and tricky but unable to stay the distance. The usual suspects like Mark Paul and Ricky Hailstone are always in the mix, but obviously Mark hasnt been in the side recently.
For those amongst our group of fans it can only be one man, Anthony Thomas.
The youngster switched to centre back in the middle third of the campaign and has looked comfortable ever since.
He would be a worthy winner in our eyes.
Elsewhere in the UCL, our rival St Neots are close to moving into their new home as this picture shows.
Much as I want them to succeed in getting promotion and flying the flag for Hunts Football, part of me wants them in the UCL next season so that we get to visit them (at least once).
Seeing their new stadium should be an inspiration to all at YFC that we can get to that stage too, and soon enough. Keep believing!
